  1. Before

Build the kit in three steps: 2 weeks, 30 days, 90 days. Practice one lights-off weekend.

  2. Hour 0–1

Fill every container and the bathtub while the taps still run. Keep fridge and freezer shut. Check CO alarms.

  3. Day 1–3

Eat the fridge first, then the freezer. Set up the one warm room, the two-bucket toilet and the handwashing station.

  4. Week 3–4

The 30-day line. Most households without a kit run out here.

The lit window, on everyone's phone.

    Fair questions.

How does the plan get into SmartPlan?

Pick a start Saturday in the 12-weekends section and copy the plan link. In SmartPlan, open Settings, then Other calendars, paste the link and switch on Show to everyone. The weekends appear read-only in everyone's week and refresh on their own.

Do family members have to pay for SmartPlan?

No. Invited members never pay. One person's membership covers every calendar they own, and each invite code sets what that person can do.

    Can we try SmartPlan first?

A free-day key starts 24 hours of Premium, once per person. Or choose a plan on smart-plan.shop and cancel any time.

Is the planner part of SmartPlan?

No. The planner and both handbooks here are free and need no account. SmartPlan is the shared calendar where you can put the plan so the whole family sees it.

    Is the planner really free?

Yes. The planner and both handbooks are free, with no sign-up and no account.

Where do my ticks and names go?

Nowhere. Your family size, ticks, tool list and skills tracker are saved in this browser's storage on this device only. Nothing is sent to a server.

    Are the prices real?

They are rough US averages, not live quotes. Every item has Amazon, price history (camelcamelcamel) and deals (Slickdeals) links, so you can see whether today's price is actually low.

Will it work if the internet goes down?

Yes. Once you have opened the planner on your phone or computer, it keeps working offline, with your family and ticks. Download both PDFs too, and print the lists: paper works when phones don't.

    Is this medical advice?

No. Ask your pediatrician and doctor about doses, feeding and conditions, and write their answers on the medical card in Book 1.
